| Hello, I am currently teaching a 7th grade English class, Science classes for 6th through 8th and one of the two 6th-8th grade elective classes. The real reward of being involved in this profession is the students. I can always count on one of their comments or projects making my day.
My educational background for teaching started in Dillon, Montana. During my stay in Dillon I earned a degree in biology and a minor in geology from the University of Montana Western. Since that time I have earned a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction. In May of 2005 I completed my K-12 Principals endorsement and Superintendent licensure program in 2006 from the University of Montana. I am currently pursuing further studies in Educational Leadership as a doctoral student through the University of Montana.
After leaving a middle school in Sunnyside, Washington I began to manage a petroleum based company which included gas stations and a jiffy lube in Sandpoint, Idaho. This was a fantastic business learning experience but I missed being in the classroom and contact with the next generation of leaders.
I returned to teaching middle school students in Port Angeles, Washington. An opportunity arose to move back to Montana and I decided to capitalize on a new experience. Before I began teaching school I worked for a raft company in West Glacier, Montana for almost eight years as a river guide/operations manager and as a downhill ski patroller in the winter. I still really enjoy rafting, traveling and downhill skiing in the winter.
